Technology Business Incubators

The Technology Business Incubator (TBI) at University of Hyderabad was sanctioned in the year 2006 by National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB) of the Department of Science & Technology (DST). TBI at UoH is a joint program by University of Hyderabad and Department of Science and technology (DST).

TBI@UoH registered as a society on March 10’2008.

Thrust areas

    TBI-UoH program concentrated on Pharma, Biotechnology and Renewable energy domains.

Objective

TBI-UoH is dedicated to Pharma, Biotech and Renewable energy industries. The main objective of TBI at UoH is to

• Promote and accelerate the successful development of entrepreneurial Technology based Small Enterprises (TBSEs) in selected thrust areas such as pharma Biotechnology and Renewable energy through an array of business support resources, expertise, facilities and other infra-structure available in the University.
• Develop graduates from TBI @ UoH who would be capable of contributing to the advancement of chemical and Pharma biotechnology.
• Concentrates on providing opportunities for product development, commercialization, new business model, foster local development and employment of highly skilled graduates.

The incubation model at University of Hyderabad has been adopted to meet a variety of needs, from fostering commercialization of university/institution technologies to generation of employment. The incubator facility at UoH has the provision of providing the infrastructure, survival and growth which are the major challenges for the startups and innovators to develop and to stay in a strategic and good entrepreneurial climate.
