ACADEMIC HONORS AND DISTINCTIONS

The Government of India (GoI), through the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, is undertaking the National Mental Health Survey-2 – Megacity Survey. The nodal coordinating organisation is NIMHANS, Bengaluru. The denizens of mega cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru will be surveyed as part of this. The School of Medical Sciences, represented by Prof. B.R. Shamanna and Dr. M. Surya Durga Prasad, will work with the Institute of Mental Health, Osmania Medical College, as partners for the Hyderabad arm of the Megacity Survey, February 23, 2022

OTHERS

Women students

The University continues to encourage women students to join various courses by providing them hostel and other facilities on priority. Since inception of the University, the percentage of women students admitted to various courses has been fairly high as may be seen from Table 10. During 2021-22, there were 2393 women students on the rolls of the University constituting 44.31% of the total student strength (5400). The University not only provided hostel accommodation to all outstation women students, but also tried to provide hostel accommodation to those in the twin cities of Hyderabad who needed it.
