Erasmus Mundus: Namaste+

Göttingen–India higher education cooperation

NAMASTE+ is a mobility and research cooperation project between the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and 12 Indian higher education partner institutions (opens in a new tab). It is financed by the DAAD and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research under the programme “A New Passage to India”.

NAMASTE+ reinforces a long-term multidisciplinary cooperation with the Indian partners, promoting Indo-German dialogue and exchange in research and higher education through the multilateral mobility of researchers, students and staff. Through its activities, NAMASTE+ aims to:

  • improve academic skills and competencies, preparing researchers, students and staff for leadership roles and increasing graduates’ employability in international academia and the job market;
  • promote sustainability and future cooperation in research and innovation;
  • together with the Centre for Modern Indian Studies (CeMIS) (opens in a new tab) at the University of Göttingen, provide opportunities for women, vulnerable groups and socio-economically disadvantaged groups, in line with the diversity strategy of the University of Göttingen and Indian government policy;
  • jointly develop innovative, high-quality research proposals at postdoctoral and academic staff level that demonstrate research excellence;
  • provide hands-on training in internationalisation processes for managers.

Calls for nominations are published on the NAMASTE+ website and are also sent to the Office by e-mail from the University of Göttingen. See also the NAMASTE+ FAQs (opens in a new tab).
